Chalk Board Photo Block
If you love simple DIY’s that also make a great addition to your everyday home decor then check this out.
This Chalk Board Photo Block has become a favorite in our home because we all use it to leave little messages for each other from time to time 🙂 Its become something we look forward to.
Heres what you will need to make one for your home
- Wood Block (3 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 3 1/2)
- Chalk Paint
- Sand Paper
- 2 Sponge Brushes
- Mod Podge
- Printed Black and White Photos
- Chalk Marker
Step 1:
Print out 2 different black and white photos on regular printer paper, cut them out and set aside for step 3
Step 2:
Sand your wood block smooth, then paint it with your chalk paint. This step will require two coats. Let it dry in between each coat.
Step 3:
Glue your photos onto each side of your block with mod podge. Let it dry about 15 minutes. If you have to cut the edges of the photo, do so using an exacto knife for clean lines.
Step 4:
Brush a layer of mod podge over the photos and let it dry.
TIP: Mod Podge goes on white but will dry completely clear 😉
And there you have it! If you choose to, you can add a decorative knob on top of your block and add some felt at the bottom to keep your furniture from being scratched 😉
Now go ahead and write on your block. You can write an inspirational quote, favorite song lyrics, or a sweet message for someone you love
