A Personalized Tribute
Our latest project involved creating a custom Care Package Retirement Chest designed to honor the IDMT’s distinguished service. Here are the details that make this chest a unique and fitting tribute:
- Dimensions and Stain: The chest measures 15” x 24” and is stained in a rich Jacobean dark color, providing an elegant and durable finish that highlights the craftsmanship and personal significance of the piece.
- Custom Engravings: The chest features the IDMT’s badge prominently displayed, with her rank and name engraved directly beneath it. This personalization ensures that the chest is a true reflection of her career and accomplishments.
- Elegant Hardware: Gold hinges and latches were chosen to complement the chest’s dark stain, adding a touch of sophistication and durability to the design.
- Shadowbox and Flags: The interior of the chest is stained to match the exterior. It includes two openings in the lid for embedding flags—typically the American flag and a Service or Unit flag. The space between the flags serves as a shadowbox, allowing for the display of rank insignias, patches, medals, ribbons, or other meaningful items. This customizable area ensures that each chest can be uniquely personalized to reflect the recipient’s individual journey.
