We are proud to team up with Miguel Salamanca from his blog, Life Presents, to bring you an exclusive line of M. Salamanca Haiku poems.
“Haiku” is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines, so they are short poems, typically written about reader-recognizable subjects. For example, animals, seasons and feelings are topics children might enjoy exploring.
Miguel is a frequent contributor to the Poetry Express Too facebook group, and here’s a look at some of his original work:
About the Poems
About the Plaques:
Each plaque is made by hand, from a solid piece of pine wood. We’ve then stained and painted each frame with a different style. Some are distressed and aged to give it an antique look, while others are painted different bold colors. We transfer the selected poem unto the wood and wood-burned each letter by hand. We love the distinct, unique and textured design each creation brings.
