Nothing says “Christmas is Here!” like the arrival of those gorgeous Poinsettia plants. However that foil that they’re wrapped in takes away from their beauty and elegance, so this year I decided to give mine a little make over.
All you’ll need is:
- Roll of Burlap Ribbon
- Red ribbon with wire
- Glue Gun
- Scissors
*Before you begin, remove the foil from your pots and if using a fake poinsettia plant, remove the stems as well.
Step 1:
Cut 4 strips of burlap ribbon, 24″ long, 4 Strips of wired red ribbon, 6″ long and 1 Strip of wired red ribbon, 20″ long
Step 2:
Use each strip of burlap ribbon to cover the foam pot, Glue in place.
Step 3:
Once your foam pot is covered in burlap, you’re going to cover each of the four seams with the 6″ red wired ribbon. Glue in place.
Step 4:
Wrap the 20″ red wired ribbon around the top of the foam pot. Glue in place.
Step 5:
Make a bow with the red wired ribbon and glue it on, covering the seam of the 20″ ribbon
Step 6:
Fold the tops of the burlap ribbon and cut at an angle
Step 7:
re-insert your poinsettia stems and you’re done
