Sideshow Crates

These boxes were made for a customer on the left coast (California) whoShipping Cost wanted to display and safeguard some artwork. The boxes are made of 1/2-inch sanded plywood, measuring 8″ x 12″ x 8″.

The boxes were stained, and a circus tent was painted on the top of the box. The boxes were designed to reflect Freakshow Train Carts carrying ‘live cargo.’ You can see the side of the boxes look like oddity posters with The Bearded Woman, Toad Boy, etc.

Martial Arts Belts Display

IMG_5839This Martial Arts Belt Display was made as a birthday gift for one of Angel’s Brazilian Jiu JitsuIMG_5841 training partners. The display is made to hold 5 belts, and the shelves are removable to allow for expansion. You can remove the shelves and use it as a display for larger items. The display case is stained Provincial, measuring 12-1/2 x 23 x 5. The display case has a magnet and catch, allowing it to be securely fastened. Felt bottoms allow the display to stand upright without scratching your furniture, or wall-hung.

Rustic Wooden Ice Chest/Cooler  (Medeiros)

Medeiros Rustic Coolers v2The following Christmas after making my first Medeiros Rustic Cooler v2 Side viewRustic Ice Chest Cooler I received two more orders for a similar cooler, except, even bigger! This Rustic Ice Chest Cooler is stained Expresso on the outside, and Golden Pecan on the inside. The family last name is stenciled in the front, centered. We then clear coated the cooler to protect it against the elements.  There is a cast-iron bottle opener on the right side of the cooler, along with a spigot to drain the cooler without having to tilt it over. On the bottom we have a slotted shelf to place plates, sodas, beers, etc. The cooler measures 33 x 21 x 38″ tall.

Rustic Wooden Ice Chest/Cooler (Texans)

Texas CoolerThis wooden ice chest was made for a fellow Marine Corps veteran, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner, and despite his bad taste in football teams (he’s a Texans’ fan ;-) ) an overall awesome family. The Rustic Ice Chest Cooler is stained Ebony on the outside, and Golden Pecan on the inside. The State of Texas is handprinted in the front, centered.

Wood encased Mini-fridge (NJ Devils)

Rustic Crate Mini Fridge profileThis item is a perfect gift for your own sports cave. Our Rustic Crate Mini Fridge front opencustomer ordered a mini-fridge and had it encased in wood, with the intent to resemble a wooden shipping crate. We then hand-painted the NJ Devils logo (Hockey anyone?) on the front. This was a very fun project to make, and we are proud of the way it turned out. The mini-fridge measures 21 x 20 x 22-1/2″

Marine Corps Shadow Box v.1

As tradition often calls, Military service members extend their gratitude to their brothers and sisters by offering personalized gifts as the service member retires and/or moves to another unit. As these Marines were leaving their respective units, we were honored to be entrusted with presenting these two different shadowboxes.

This box measures 18″ x 12″ and 2-1/2 inches deep. The box was stained two-tone, inside we used Golden Pecan, and on the outside we Shadow Box CLARKE_Fotorused Red Mahogany. In the background you can see the blue and red NCO blood-stripe.

We decoupaged two pieces of MDF with the Marine’s rank insignia. Centered is the Marine’s last name. On the left we inserted a golden pecan stained 4×6 picture frame and a picture of SSgt Clarke and her peers. On the right we placed Recruiting Station New York’s official insignia.

On the bottom left, pinned to the bottom of the softwood is the Marine’s awards/ribbons. On the right side you notice a small message displayed. This is a personalized message from the Marine’s friends. In the center of the box you will notice a pedestal proudly displaying the Recruiting Ribbon, an award earned after successful completion of a long and fulfilling tour on Recruiting Duty.

Marine Corps Shadow Box v.2

Shadow Box Keeton_FotorThe second of the two Shadow Boxes shares dimensions of the v.1 box listed above. This box measures 18″ x 12″ and 2-1/2″ inches deep. The box was stained two-tone, inside we used Red Mahogany, and on the outside we used Expresso. In the background you can see the blue and red NCO blood-stripe, centered by a stenciled black Eagle, Globe and Anchor (EGA).

We decoupaged two pieces of MDF with the Marine’s rank insignia. In the center we transferred the Marine’s last name unto a mitered piece of stained wood. Left of the EGA we placed a 4×6 Recruiting Station New York logo, and on top of that (not pictured) we placed the Marine’s Recruiting ribbon. The Recruiting Ribbon is an award earned after successful completion of a long and fulfilling tour on Recruiting Duty. On the top right we placed a personalized message from the fellow Marines Sgt Keeton worked with.  Underneath that, (not pictured) we placed the Marine’s stack of medals.

The front of the box was then outlined with molding to add a little elegance to the shadow box.

Military Chest w/Shadow Box tray

SNCOIC Chest and Shadow BoxThis Military chest is made from solid Pine. It measures 24 x 12-3/4 x 11-3/4″ inches tall. The box was stained two-tone, inside we used red Mahogany, and Expresso on the outside slots. We stenciled the service member’s rank and last name, and placed an Eagle, Globe and Anchor (EGA) centered beneath.  As you open the chest you will notice a framed 8 x 10 Unit Logo. Inside is a removable shadowbox tray. There is 5″ clearance beneath the tray. We used 5/8″ ropes as the handles. We’ve weather sealed the chest to promote many years of joyful use.

The included Shadowbox tray measures 19 x 9-1/2 x 2″ deep. The shadowbox SNCOIC Shadow Box mediumis painted in the Marine Corps NCO colors, and is centered by an EGA. Beneath that is the service member’s ribbons, and beneath that is stenciled piece displaying the Marine’s rank and last name. This shadowbox can be easily removed and mounted on a wall or as a desk piece. On the left side you will notice a personal message, and on the right side is another picture of the unit’s logo. The shadowbox is enclosed behind plexiglass.
